You guys are dogging it! Out here we can pour [place, if you're an engineer...= )] 8,000+ in a day, the slab crews have nearly been replaced by laser screed machines which can place, level, screed and float about 1,600 yards each per day (usually about 6-8 hours) A half dozen riding finishing machines and a half dozen finishers at the perimeter, soft-cut the slab for expansion and everybody is home by 2:30 PM. Since we don't mass manufacture much here in the USA anymore, the majority of our new buildings here in SoCal are 800,000 to 1.5 million square feet warehouses so that we can distibute all that chinese junk to the rest of the nation. Building these mega-warehouses has become an assembly line type of building. Concrete consumption was a record 123.4 million metric tons last year. Something around 2 billion 706 million cubic yards, too many zeros to write out! Some of it delivered in Dodges from Home Depot I suppose...= )
