Hi Ken,
The block will have a serial number just below the drivers side head (see picture) there will be no paint in this area, the serial number will start or finish with the number 318-3, 318-1 or 318-2. That is the easiest way to tell if the donor truck does not have it indicated on the VIN tag or Special Equipment tag.
