The pin is like a rivit in a way. THe end nearest the shift lever is flared out, thats why it won't pull out. To get it you have to take the tranny top apart, which I just did.
If you drill it out, it still does not address what is going on inside.
THe lot in the shifter shaft that the pin rides in was really worn out-causing sloppy shifting. I am putting in a less worn shifter that came out of a tranny with much less wear.
