I got a 1996 dodge carcase for 300 bucks. Thats a rolled smashed up truck without one straight piece of body work. It is missing the front and rear end. But it has 24000 miles on a 318 , a NV3500, transfercase and all kinds of odds and sods that nickle and dime you to death when building a truck. I fired it up today and after about 5 minutes it stopped smoking. I squirted some fogging oil down each cylinder and I think that 1/2 the smoke was from the oil. After the first 5 minutes it stopped smokin and it ran very smooth. ( I did have to run an inline fuel pump into a jerry can )
I am not going to use the motor or trans but I think I can cover my costs by selling them to someone.
Every once in awhile things go right.
Now if I could only score a late model diesel drive train.....and some nice matching seats for the interior.
No progress on the wc53. I am still working on the house.
