I don't get the option of using Hagerty or the other specialty insurance companies in NC. Down here, the only folks who insure cars/trucks are the folks who handle new stuff as well, and they actually cover the older/odball stuff through the state reinsurance bureau. Makes very little difference who you write the policy with, but you do have to have at least one "regular" vehicle on the policy. In my case, I have a 2000 VW Jetta as the "normal" vehicle insured by Nationwide and they cover the '53 M37 and '51 M38 for liability only (I guess I could have gotten comp and collision, but why?) for about $150 each per year with no real restrictins (policy does say parade or show, but the definition of parade/show/maintenance is pretty broad).
I do like the pages that Hagerty has on Paul's trucks...
