First, before even trying to pull the rear pins, pump them full of grease. Get'em lubed.

Then I use a 3/8 SAE (fine thread) bolt 2.5" long, a impact socket that will go over the pin and allow it to fit inside and a stack of large 3/8" washers.

Unscrew the Grease fitting. Put a number of washers on a 3/8" fine thread bolt and then stick thru the socket. I add washers until I have about 1/2" of thread sticking out of the socket.

Screw the bolt in and use a 9/16 wrench , keep tightening it and the pin will be pulled right out. At some point the bolt will bottom and you will need to unscrew it and add more washers. I have never had a rear pin that did not come out. My suggestion, always replace the pins, unless they are new.
The pins wear and allow slop, this slop can translate to horizontal movement in the shackle. Horizontal movement of the shackle when under load 'can' cause spring breakage.

The picture is a pin I pulled on Sweetheart when I had her torn down 2002/2004. You can see the bolt, washers and socket all still screwed into the pin.
