That's even worse news for the ferd and gm crowd if they can be drug around like that with the old motor. The new powerstricken ferds have the same torque as the Cummins, but develope it at about 1200 higher rpm, not real conducive to a working diesel or 4x4 which needs it full torque at just off idle. When gm and ferd tout their engine numbers, look closer at the rpm range and see that their claims are not really apples to apples. The original Power Wagons worked so well because their 6 cylinder motors, while weak in the horsepower department, developed their torque at very low rpm's, right where you want it. 750 lbs of torque is worthless offroad if it is developed at 6,000 rpm.
