First let me say thanks to all of you that responded to my tow bar question. I am VERY glad I decided to TRAILER my new toy home.

Now for the important stuff. It's a 1949 PW, originally owned by a mining co. in northern NM. It was then bought in an auction ~ 8 years ago. That owner put new NDT's all around, sold the winch, and let it set under a tree for 8 years. It was then sold to the guy I bought it from. He put a new master cylinder and battery in it. His company is transfering him and he HAD to sell. Poor guy only got to own it for 2 months.

This truck, as far as I can tell, is all original. The bed, tailgate, lights, long arm mirrors, everything. My question is, how can you tell if all the preverbial "numbers match"?

This is what I have so far

S/N: 83912457
Eng #: T137-14153

There is a tag below the S/N tag, on the door jam, with the numbers: 4312-13868. Paint code?

Haven't cleaned the frame off yet, so I don't have that number.

The truck runs and drive well, but, it needs a total brake rebuild. When the last guy put the master cylinder in, he blew the steel line running along the frame to the rear wheels. I have NO plans to drive it until the brakes have a thorough rebuild.

I now know what the PW "fever" feels like, and I don't want a cure! Thanks in advance to all the dumb questions I will ask over the next few months/years....
