Gordon:

So, you finally got into the shop for your 500,000 mile check-up, eh? Well, I'm very glad to learn you only needed some minor electrical work instead of a full valve job, complete overhaul or an engine swap. Better to keep the idle speed down just a bit. Blippin' the ole gas pedal causes some premature wear and plays havoc with the fuel line pressure. Glad you got that fixed with some new tech.

I know that like many of us oldsters, you originally came out wired for 6 volts, not 12. So what if now, years later, it takes a bit longer to get started each day? The engagement is still direct, and your fine post-op attitude confirms you definitely are positively grounded!

So stay in the garage a spell and rest up. There's no need to hurry back to the race track. The magazine gets out whenever it gets out, and a few days here or there are of no consequence in a lifetime. Thanks for keeping us informed. Godspeed and all Best Wishes!
