1st Check your manual and see if you have assembled the ujoints in "phase" they must be at exactly 90 degree angles to each other, or as they rotate they with tend to snap in each revolution (out of phase) you may have reassembled the driveshaft expansion joint 180 degrees or less out of alignment (easy to do...)

2d Take two straight edges and a fine measure ruler. Remove the shaft and place each straight edge verticle on bothe the transfer output, and the axle flange. Measure top and bottom between the two straight edges (a helper here helps), now rotate the straight edges horizontal and take measurements. If they are different, something is out of line and they must be brought into parrallel orientation in order for the u-joints to survive.
If the axle flange and the transfer are not aligned, a steering shop might be in order, to set the proper castor/camber of the front axle, bringing them into alignment.

Of course you could just take it back down 6 inches....... ;)
