My 64"WM300's waterpump began to leak at the weephole,no problem,I,ll just take one off my other 2 parts engines.Ooops, they leak too!No problem, just run on down to NAPA who has always had stuff for WM300's.WHAT! no waterpumps or rebuilt units either, whats going on?A week later and postally stressed after finding that no major or minor parts houses even carry a rebuilt unit for this truck and locating an old pump rebuilder to teach me the proper way disasemble apump so I can match the seals and bearings to rebuild it myself,I luckup and find a rebuilt unit at a little mom&pop parts house in the middle of B'ham,Al. I then took every pump i had to them to be rebuilt!I then went and bought every wheelcyl.(1) and every rebuild kit(3)that NAPA had in stock in town. Then I bought several of items like points-condsr,plugs,oilfilter,etc.that might suddenly become hard to find. What happened?2yrs ago NAPA sold Wpumps rebuilt for 24.99 I was lucky to get the one I found for 32.00,I wonder what the one I'm having rebuilt(if it can be rebuilt there) are going to cost.I guess I'm suffering the same shock Rip Van Winkle did.PW parts last so long, when it comes time to replace them, their gone or hard to find. One parts man said someone seems to be going around buying up slow moving old stocks from major parts houses for a fraction of what we could buy them for.Can anyone put me on to the sources of parts to rebuild my own water and fuel pumps?I would greatly appreciate it!
