I took a trip to Rock Springs today and noted a few points of interest for your impending trip next week. Mile posts are the ones on I-80.
Mile post 106: Steve Wataha's Power Wagon restoration shop in Rock Springs
Mile post 86: the Green River
Mile post 85.9: my property on the South side of I-80.
Mile post 75: antelope herd
Mile post 72: Little America, Wyo
Mile post 67: SHEEP!
Mile post 61: Veteran's Butte with American flag flying from the top. VFW members buy American flags with their own money and fly one from the top of this butte full time. The winds are so fierce that a typical flag is tatters in a week or 2.
Mile post 49: Cows and SHEEP!
Mile post 44: Johnson GOAT Ranch! - you may want a change of pace.
Mile post 41: dead raccoon - yechh!
Mile post 39: SHEEP!
Mile post 28: large herd of SHEEP!
Mile post 25: cows
Mile post 23: cows
Mile post 18: cows and mule deer
Mile post 15: cows and mule deer
Mile post 12: Wind farm. Be sure to stop close below one of the 88 windmills and watch that sucker spin until you fall over.
Mile post 9: cows and antelope
Mile post 8: cows
Mile post 7: cows
Mile post 6: Exit to Evanston where you'll find BUFFALO! and ELK! at the state park.
