I just installed a PTO on my M37. I wasn't smart enough to check the temp before. The trans is very hot. Duh, it is 100 out. SO, how how should it be? Would heat be a byproduct of setting the PTO too tight? Any other warning signs of that? I have no idea what I am doing for the most part. THe transmission might have been hot before. I suppose it may be that way as it is bolted to the hot engine...It is hot enough that you want to take your hand off in a few seconds. Maybe it's fine.
