While you're ordering from McMaster-Carr, you might want to get some mil-spec battery cable lugs. They're the exact same ones the army uses, and even if you're not trying to be authentic, they're the best cable lugs around as far as being strong and making a good connection to the cable. You have to have an eyelet on the end of your battery cable, but that's easy to do. I use them on everything. I like the fact that I can replace a lug in the field without having to replace the entire cable. They also take a lot of pounding and twisting without breaking.
