The 1946 Preliminary parts manual shows 595 424. The '51 parts manual is the first one that shows the new switch 1345 638, though the 1954 parts manual is trying to say that number had not been used previously to '54. I did not look in the '53 parts manual.

I am not too suprised that the manuals don't agree on when the change between the two listed switched took place. I was suprised that my '51 has the older switch (and knobs)but has a higher serial number than when the '51 manual indicates the change took place. Maybe I should not be though. As you know, some parts are listed in the manuals as being used up to a particular serial number and then, in addition, this later number, and this later number, etc. It seems like there was almost always an overlap, i.e: a time frame or serial number range where a particular part was being phased out and gradually replaced with a newer part/number.
