So you suspend your work piece from a wire in the middle of the vat and hook up the negative lead to it. You then have a positive lead going to scrap metal (stainless or mild arguably).

The question is the positive scrap sacraficial piece, does it just hang in the tank or does it have to be in direct contact to the work piece?
