A few weeks ago I posted regarding some fenders I had shipped, but not been paid for.
The buyer contacted me shortly after posting my problem on this and other Dodge forums. He had been on the road for several weeks and it looks like he got a little over extended in his deal making. (I see other folks on line have been waiting for him to pick up some items.) I suspect $ was never an issue, just him having time to sit down and catch up on his horse trading. I did get paid.
I appreciate the concept of getting paid for something before shipping it (more so now). I usually follow that policy, but in this case I was uncertain of what the shipping cost would be for something as big as fenders. I was also anxious to free up some garage space, so I shipped ahead of payment.
I’ve never had any real trouble buying and selling parts or even entire trucks with folks on these forums. (Gordon’s PWA, Joe’s Powerwagon, and Scotland Gordon’s WWII Dodge) This is actually the first time I’ve had to be worried, and it worked out.
Thanks to everyone who offered help and advice. Despite the scare, my general faith in the word of the regulars on the Dodge forums remains unshaken. It seems these solid, dependable trucks tend to have owners of the same disposition, and it’s a pleasure to associate with you all.
