The jury may still be out on whether any Carryall was every built with panel doors in lieu of the lift gate, I've learned to never say never when it comes to Dodge, however the 4" difference that I referenced in another post on this subject makes it suspect, but not impossible that a needed request was filled, or that a prototype came off of the line in panel door configuration. I must confess that I'm getting too old to remember for certain whether my '42 had panel or lift gate doors, I seemed to remember panel doors, but I don't have a photograph of her from the rear and it's been 40 years.
As for crusty, get in line...= )
