Syncro Transmission

OK Guys,

Could I get a little more info on Syncro, Vs. Non-Syncro Trannys. Question is, I found a forward shifter tower tranny out of one of our parts M37's am I correct in assuming it is a Syncro tranny? And will it fit into my WDX? And i assume I will have to change the tranny cover out with one that will take a froward tower and the winch controls. What about the intermediate shaft to the transfer case? And what else am i not seeing here?
