I think you are over analyzing it. The simple hobbs should be enough to at least establish a relationship between hours and actual mileage. A PW is a fairly crude bit of machinery and would seem to thrive on the " gee, it's been really wet/muddy/snowy lately, I guess I should hit the grease fittings" schedule.
I assume the new truck warranty has expired? ;) If Gordon Maney disagrees, side with him!! BB
