Chevy trucks started using the corporate or as they call it '10 bolt' front axles in 1978....They used Disk brake Dana 44s untill then. Some 71-72 Chevy trucks were disk on front as well. So...Why not just find a Disk brake Dana 44 from a Chevy and swap those parts? They are fairly easy to find and reasonably cheap. You'd be best off just to buy whole front axle and swap out outer axles, spindles, rotors, hubs etc. You might even score an axle with lockouts already on it. Alot of the 10 bolt Corporate GM axles have parts that interchange with Dana 44 axles. (I THINK thats what Chad was refering to) As for transfer case, either get the Mile Marker part time kit, or else look for a 81-93 W250HD or W-350 with a married NP205 and swap that in. Good luck!
