Manifold to Manifold Exhaust Leak

OK, I went and installed an exhaust pipe and muffler in an attempt to keep the fumes out of the cab on Pop's PW, but after installing it, The truck was no quieter and the noise was coming from under the hood still!

Well, my brother had notices and not bothered to tell me, and I didn't notice, but the manifold to manifold connection under the Carburetor has a gap about half way around it. Now with an exhaust system and some back pressure, most of the exhaust want to come out of that gap.

So, have any of you experienced this? Any quick simple solutions to sealing the gap, or do I live with the fumes and engine song for now? (Yes the only proper way to to take it apart and do it right, but time is getting short.)
