Exactly correct, this now puts Chrysler in line with the other auto makers and lowers costs in the 4-7 year period. The quality of Chrysler products is very high right now and the cost to the consumer is negligible.
The last four new Mopar vehicles that I have owned all went through the warrantee period with no needed repairs...except for the windshield of my Ram. At 37,000 miles it cracked and they replaced it for free! Now that's service!
I bought a used high mileage Grand Cherokee, it was 2 years old with 67,000 miles. I extended the warantee to 99,000 miles and at 97,000 miles it developed a bearing noise in the Dana supplied rear axle. Chrysler replaced the entire rear end, $4,800 worth, at no charge. They could have simply slapped new bearings in there and called it good for another 2 thousand miles, but they did it the correct way and told me that the housing was slightly bent and was causing premature axle and bearing wear. This is one of the reasons that Dana is no longer the Chrysler supplier of axles. Poor quality control and price structure when compared to the competition.
Buy a Cummins powered Ram and you'll get another 3 years and 36,000 miles tacked onto your warantee.
And... for whoever made the comment that Dodge Trucks are junk, you're on the wrong forum! Granted you can get a lemon or a great truck with any manufacturer, however at the moment I see no manufacturer that comes close consistently to Ram quality and offerings.
