I'm no expert but. Napa carries, or used to carry anyway, votage drops for this purpose. They were a common item. You wire 1, 2, or 3 between the power source and your accessory depending upon the amperage draw of the accessory. I don't know who they are made by. Complete detailed instruction were included.
It has been a LONG time since I converted my WDX back to 6-volt. If you can't find a source for the voltage drops, let me know. I SHOULD still have my old ones and the instructions around here somewhere.
