I was stopped in the car at an inpection check, I had the back seat removed and my carpenter tools in the back. The cop let me off with a warning so I had to avoid that town going to work. Years later Iwas stopped in another town at a roadcheck in my powerwagon (68 wm300), I had farmers plates. I guess he did'nt know the law and waved me through. I never took the truck to inspection in the 10 years that I drove it and did not get ticketed, they loved the truck.
