Didn't this truck do exactly the same thing when you first got it going? Bad ignition won't make it flood so bad that gas runs out of the maniflod drain, but a carb problem would.

Gas milage varies LOTS by usage- on realy rough stuff, when you have to drop to granny so as not to bang your head on the roof, 4 mpg is good. Freeewy commuting would get the best, your hilly local terrain will be poor. To be accurate, you'll need to run several gallon out of it, otherwise a slight variation in measurement/ level ground will cause big changes. And a flooding carb will kill it too....
