what might look like a disaster to the
untrained eye (non old time journeyman mechanic) might not be that bad
you might check with the machinist's union
local see if they know of any "old timers" in you area that you could contact
it has only been since the advent of credit cards that the only way to fix a engine was to rebuild
before that mechanics had to be able to fix
things for people that had to pay for the repairs out of the family budget
