1949 X stamped trucks were built between August 1st and October 1st 1949, and they were 1949 trucks with all the mechanical, etc updates of the 1950 trucks.
So they were trucks built just like the B-2 trucks, but they were considered B-1s.
Weird stuff huh?
To my understanding they did not double up the VIN numbers, they just added an X to that group to make it clear they used the 1950 upgrades.
