The highest speed I run my Carryall at is 60 MPH and the 4BTA is turning 1950 RPM's. I am running 36" STA Super Lug tires with 4.89 ring and pinions. NV -4500 5 speed OD Transmission.

Cummins 4BT and 4BTA engines come in many different power versions. It all depends on the CPL #. My Cummins 4BTA is CPL 857 which gives 120 hp at 2500 R's. Looking in my Cummins Shop manual at CPL #'s I see HP Ratings for 4BTA engines from 70 hp at 2100 (CPL 592) to a 130 hp at 2500 R's (cpl 1963)

When dealing with Cummins 4B series and 6B series, the CPL Number ( Control Parts List) is all important. The CPL number describes what parts make up a Cummins Engine. Per Cummins North East, "its the only way to know what engine you have, and this includes ordering parts"
