Ethanol is NOT the answer, as I wrote before. However, ethanol is an unrefined byproduct of milling the grain, which is something we already do to extract corn syrup, CO2, dextrose, and to make a better animal feed for cattle, hogs, and the like.
It is expensive to make, and the fuel driving today's interest is the high price of oil. But it still makes more sense to refine it than to throw it away.
Besides, even though American made products cost more than the imported stuff, I still buy American.
