frame protection

As we have been getting the PW frame preped for painting I've been pondering the three frame crossmembers that are enclosed and therefor impossible to paint (inside, that is). Anybody have a way to prevent corrosion from within? I am tempted to use a two part expanding foam, but I hate to find a reason not to after I've done it! Thanks
