John, nobody likes higher energy costs, but it isn't "them" who's at fault, it is us, you, me and everyone who uses energy. The cost of oil depends on lots of factors including increasingly expensive extraction methods and huge demand for whatever can be extracted. Also the oil companies make a profit, just like any of us (try ) do at our own endeavors. Lots of pension plans depend on that fact or else retirees will have to do with less. Buy stock in Exon Mobil and get in on the dividends too.
