I was on my way to pick up my trailer, driving the empty truck when it blew.

Not 75 miles before I had been loaded up going 75 MPH with my 36' trailer behind me, no troubles at all.

It sure is strange when they blow, mine went at a touch over 200,000, but that was the second tranny as it went at about 70,000 and it was repaired by Chrysler.

I was told that under loads like I used to haul (20,000-26,000+ CGVW) I could expect 60,000 miles out of a nut, so I obviously was doing something right!

Make sure the shaft is not stretched, and that you use the upgraded nut, do not just tighten the old nut.

If you buy one of these transmisions used, upgrade the nut before install, Chrysler used the original nut until the end, as the transmisions with the upgraded nut were a few $$ more expensive.

The only place that only supplies the upgraded nut transmissions that I know of is that guy in MT, Advance Adapters? He will not carry the other ones from what I heard.

Good luck!

Eric
