You can tell the difference between early and late housings by determining the size of the studs holding in the differential. 3/8" studs would be early 8 3/4" diff and 7/16" studs would be for the late 9 5/8 " diff. You need the later style. the early one can be modified to work. But make sure you get the interchange manual if you are going to modify an early housing, (available at VPW)
