Un hook the wire going to the coil from the dash area and run it straite to the battry. That way you can tell if it is the switch or not. Double check your points are set right, and opening when the dist turns. Turn the engine by hand till the points go closed, put power to the coil and use a screw driver to open and close the points. Take the wire coming out of the coil going to the dist and hold it about 1/4 inch from the block. You should see a spark to the block each time you break the points with the screw driver. If you are not getting spark you need to find out why the points are staying grounded(shorted or broken wire on the dist terminal on the side) OR points not closing all the way. Make sure the wire hooking to the points is insulated from ground also. If you can't get it to spark this way that is your problem and no need to check other things till you figure out why. All a coil needs to make a spark is to have power go in one side from the battry and be grounded temporley on the other terminal. You can do this outside of the dist by bumping the wire against the block that you normaly hook to the side of the dist. Mark H.
