I dont know the hardness grade of a spring center bolt. They are a special bolt with a deep head with rounded shoulders. The head does not have a hex or slot, the hex nut that secures the spring pack goes on the top of the spring. The picture shows my 2.00" x 2.00" lift blocks secured to the spring pack with the center bolt. The deep rounded head is on the bottom of the lift block. It sits into the hole in the perch that is welded onto the axle housing. My truck spring shop suggested to to as they do, after tightening the center bolt to cut it off about 1/16" above the nut. Then take a hammer and peen the bolt onto the nut so that in no way will it ever loosen. Any truck spring company will have boxes of spring center bolts. But them pleanty long and cut the waste off.
