The lowest power band cams won't gain much low end. There is just a limit as to how much power you can make at 2,000 rpm. But they will lose LOTS of power up high. It's diminishing returns. As a frinstance, Melling makes a Torquer that works well, their Torquer II costs too much up high for the low end gains. Remember that you will still spend most time driving in the normal revs, and you will want some peak power for passing. But you won't be revving it to 9,000 either.

Headers to duals sounds good, 2 1/4's would work, single 3in is 2x the size of 2 1/4 and probably flows better.

Have fun!
