By running 3" straight duals you will actually accomplish a low end torque LOSS. But being a 440 you can afford some torque loss because 440s put out massive amount of torque. A free flowing exhaust like you describe only improve high RPM horsepower. And moves the power band for HP and torque way up the RPM scale. I used to build many 3" single exhaust systems for tow rigs. 2 1/2" into heavy duty truck muffler with 3" in and out.
