To answer your question on restoring a Power Wagon. I believe it needs to be looked at with this criteria.

Safety; Most likely the entire brake system will need attention, entire steering including front knuckles, wheels and wheel bearings to name a few.

Cosmetics;
This is your call. Do you want a original truck with original paint and patina and interior with running gear brought up to good/safe mechanical condition ? A lot of good to be said for this type of PW. Or do you want to strip her down to bare frame, blast with black beauty and paint frame, body, running gear so on top of good mechanical condition she also looks new. A lot of good also to be said for this job.

Upgrades;
Again your call. Many of us have added Saginaw Power Steering, Power Disk Brakes, 4.89 ring and pinions for higher road speed, engine upgrade to a 318 or Cummins Diesel which would also include a transmission change and at minimum power disk brakes and power steering ass I have done on my Power Wagons.

Whatever course you choose, you will end up with a beautiful tough Power Wagon. You may find some of the albums I have on Power Wagon's being restored/rebuilt of interest. The Web address is http://imageevent.com/moosecreekmaple there are quite a few albums of interest and you can double click on any picture for full screen blowup.

Be careful Power Wagons are addictive ha ha
