In the shipyard we use a slag media called Tuff-Cut. It's way too coarse for auto parts so I always wait until nobody's at the Shipyard & then use Silica. Silica leaves the best finish in my opinion & is the least harmful to the environment. The only real down side is it's really bad for you to breath Silica dust which isn't a problem for the guy Sandblasting...only those working around him!
