Maybe Dennis will chime in here but I asked him that same question. It is not much of a job at all to swap back and forth. The unit isnt that heavy, so it wouldnt be like dropping your transfer case or anything. I am thinking of removing it in the winter when all I use it for is plowing. I rarely venture out with it into the salt encrusted roads in the winter.
