Hi,

I would like to change my 360's cam bearings b/c they looked worn and I am changing the cam. Unfortunately I am on a low Dodge $$ budget. My local tool rental sources do not rent out cam bearing installers/removers anymore due to lack of requests. Although machine shops are more than willing ($130) to do the job, I was hoping a reader could help out by loaning or renting me the tool. Additionally, I am a decent MIG welder and have most shop tools if you need something fabricated or repaired.

Unlike some other brand engines, the Mopar LA engine's cam bearings are all diferent sizes and I'm not proficient enough with a lathe to make up a unique bushing for each bearing. [Although I have considered making the bushings by cutting up the old cam to get the its bearing surfaces, then drill a hole through each and weld/braze a ring on each bearing surface (maybe cut a groove for an o-ring to hold the new bearings too) and trim down the ring to the respective cam bearing o.d. to remove and install each bearings - a whole lot of work.]

Thank you for your consideration.
