Call around to your local oil distributors. I have found one that will sell mineral spirits to you bulk at about half the price of the parts stores. You have to bring your own five gallon cans. If you live in a part of the country like Imlay City MI where they grow carrots, you can get mineral spirits from the farmers quite cheaply. There was a local myth that it was "carrot oil" actually from the carrot, when in fact it was mineral spirits. Turns out the farmers used it to mist it onto the carrots to kill weeds as it won't kill the carrots. I ran into one farmer that had a 10,000 gallon tank of it.
