before you put it back together
check out your old crank to see what the
problem was
as i said below
drop the old crank & bearings back in check
all journals with plasti gauge to see what you have and also how much end play
then have the old crank checked for size and
roundness
sounds like it could have been ground down
sometime before and may not be standard
anytime a piece of equipment fails need to
determine problem prior to repair
what was the condition of the thrust bearing
surface ??
just what if there was/is a problem with the
tranny - pilot shaft too long - pilot bearing
wrong - loaded the crank & had the bearings for breakfast
just some food for thought
