Here is some information I found on another square top carb used on Dodge trucks from the following literature:

1) Carter Carbureter specification sheet, Form 4723H, dated August 1948, revised February, 1958
2) Shop Manual for “B-1” Series Dodge Job-Rated Trucks, #D-12146, (10M-948)

The reference literature indicates that the Carter E7B1 carbureter was used only during the model years of 1948 and 1949, and only on truck models B-1-T, F-1-T, S-1-T, B-1-V, F-1-V, and S-1-V, equipped with the 331.35 cu. in. 6-cylinder engine. The starting serial numbers for these trucks was 81789001 (Detroit) and 85000401 (Los Angeles). The starting motor serial for these trucks was T158-1001. These were the big engines in the big trucks. This is the model of the carbureter pictured above.
