The 1946 to 1953 blocks on Plymouth (217cu) and Dodge 230 cu) all interchange. The Dodge crank is stroked 1/2" more then the Plymouth. Blocks are readily available. I got 2 from Moore Salvage in S.D. 605-348-4926, ask for Rich. The 217 is also used in late 40's to early 50's 1/2 & 3/4 T Dodge Pu. Good idea to check a Hollanders Interchange. It will give you the Series engine S/N so you know what to look for.The Plymouth blocks S/Ns I believe run P15 - P23, Dodges Passangers start at D24 but I don't remember the high end of the series. If your crankshaft is still good you should have no problem finding a block that works.
