Yesterday, Sunday, at around 4pm on Turner Classic Movies channel I saw a short Dodge promo film. The film was set in Africa showing a movie crew heading out into the bush to film for MGM. It was shown as a time filler between the movies "Interiors" and "Separate Tables".
The short film showed Power Wagons, an open Dodge WC, a pair of large Dodge box trucks and a Cabover engine refrigerated truck. Throughout the film Dodge was mentioned as doing it's job, getting the work done etc. At the end film crew and locals sat around drinking cold Cokes from the COE truck.
I contacted TCM in regard to the film and got a standard form letter response. "We get so many emails we can't answer them all, etc." I was wondering if anyone else saw the film and managed to catch the title or credit info. I missed the first few minutes and there was no mention of the film in the local TV listings. I'd very much like to locate a copy or find it again on TCM and tape it.
I also thought that if a few hundred Dodge folks like ourselves sent TCM emails about the film they might actually answer one with enough info for us to find it for sale somewhere.
Anyways, just a really cool piece of Dodge Power Wagon memorabilia floating around on the airwaves.........hope you saw it too!
