A sadistic gorilla put the screws on my WDX. As Don Evans suggests, a punch set on the edge of the screw slot may remove some, but it did not get all of mine loose.
Drill out the body of the screw, leaving only the shell with its threads. Sears (There's more for your life at Sears!) has a good set of screw extractors for about $11. I was able to get all the rest out with this method.
I found good replacement screws (bolts?) at the True Value hardware store. Do yourself a favor and use Anti-Seize for reassembly.
