I just got back from a military vehicle show and cannot believe the dissention among my fellow Dodge collectors posted to the Forum while I was away. My collection consists of 15 vehicles representing the various evolutionary stages of the Power Wagon family of vehicles. Are they all "POWER WAGONS"? No. But the 1/2 ton military truck evolved into the 3/4 ton military with a separate branch into the 1 1/2 ton. The intermediate axle of the 1 1/2 ton became the rear axle of the POWER WAGON which was itself a small evolutionary step from the WC 3/4 tons. The M-37 series corrected some ergonomic flaws and added doors to the military trucks. I consider all my trucks to be power wagons (generic term when in lower case) but I would not offer a Power Wagon bed for sale without differentiating between WC 1/2, 3/4, or 1 1/2 ton beds, WDX / B-1-PW / B-2-PW four pocket style beds, B-3-PW and later POWER WAGON bed styles (3 pocket slant top, three pocket flat top) or the M-37 beds. Giving a prospective buyer the correct information is first and foremost a matter of courtesy. And if you have a "Power Wagon" for sale, I am not being a snob because I want to know what it is. When I see a post that has incomplete information, I usually e-mail the individual directly for clarification - if he or she gave the e-mail address. I consider postings without an e-mail address to be the work of an outsider to the power wagon (generic) community who has seen what it takes to start a ruckus that takes us away from the reason we come to the Forum. So let's be nice to each other, share information, and promote our wonderful hobby in the same spirit that we'd help each other get unstuck on a trailride.
