Vacuum advance units advance your timing under light
throttle-when your cylinders are getting less
air-fuel mixture. Advanced timing is like raising
compression ratio-the higher,the better efficiency.
The practical advantage ? Better gas milage for free.
The only reason not to use vaccuum adv is "full load only"
usage-drag racing, ski boats ,etc. Vaccuum advance
distributers are harder to water proof- maybe thats
why they didn't all have them.
